Here at Back in Motion Chiropractic, acupuncture is used most often to treat pain syndromes such as headaches, chronic joint pain/back pain and muscle pain or spasms. However, there are acupuncture points for almost any condition and after more than 20 years in practice, Dr. Shelly has had experience working with a large variety of conditions including the induction of labor, infertility, asthma and scar reduction.
Chiropractors treat a number of conditions including migraine headaches, strains/sprains and body aches in adults, to ear infections and colic in children. While we cannot claim to cure these conditions, we believe that many of these problems can be aggravated and sometimes caused by disruptions in the nervous system as a result of spinal abnormalities. By correcting these spinal abnormalities chiropractors have helped thousands of individuals overcome their conditions and regain control of their lives.
Childhood is a very “physical time.” Those first hesitant steps soon evolve into jumping, running, and falls. Accidents are all part of normal childhood. While most falls are minor, at times, they can cause spinal and nerve dysfunction with serious long-term consequences. For that reason, all children need periodic chiropractic spinal checkups.
You take your child to the dentist, the optometrist, and other doctors for checkups so, why not have their spine examined by a chiropractic physician? Chiropractors are well trained in musculoskeletal examinations and can detect scoliosis and other concerns early on. The spine protects billions of nerve fibers that send messages and energy to every part of their body. An unaligned spine may mean a pinched nerve and can lead to lowered resistance to disease, organ malfunction, and sickness. A child might not notice symptoms with a rapidly growing body or be able to communicate them to you. It is not unusual to hear parents state that since getting under chiropractic care, their child has gotten sick less frequently, less severely, had less ear infections, and take less (or no) antibiotics or other drugs.
Some other areas chiropractic adjustments might be able to help with are: colic, torticollis, allergies, hyperactivity, asthma, low stamina, scoliosis, vision or hearing problems, sore throat, stomach aches, concentration, bed wetting, and constipation.
